The launch date of the Vivo X80 series in India has been set for May 18, the Chinese company confirmed on Tuesday. The series consisting of the Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro was launched in China last month. In the series, the Vivo X80 Pro came in two different variants – one with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC and the other with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, and the company has confirmed that India will get the latter variant. The Vivo X80, on the other hand, was launched with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC.

The Vivo, X80 series launch in India, will take place on May 18 at noon, the company announced via a press invitation. Flipkart has also created a special webpage to tease the launch. The May 18 launch date has been part of the rumor mill.

Vivo X80, Vivo X80 Pro price in India (expected)

The price of the Vivo X80 and Vivo, X80 Pro in India, has yet to be officially announced, although both phones are likely to be available in the premium segment. The Vivo X80 was launched in China at an initial price of CNY 3,699 (approximately Rs. 42,600) for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. At the same time, the Vivo X80 Pro debuted at a starting price of CNY 5,499 (approximately Rs. 63,300) for the 8GB. + 256GB configuration.

The Vivo X80 series was also launched in Malaysia on Sunday. The Malaysian market received the Vivo X80 for MYR 3,499 (approximately Rs. 61,800) and the Vivo X80 Pro for MYR 4,999 (roughly Rs. 88,300). Both phones debuted in a single 12GB + 256GB configuration. The Malaysian Vivo X80 Pro also came with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC as the only option.

In terms of specifications, the Vivo X80 runs on Android 12 and has a 6.78-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2400 pixels) AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC powers it along with up to 12 GB of RAM. The phone comes with a triple rear camera that carries a 50-megapixel primary Sony IMX866 RGBW sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, and a 12-megapixel portrait sensor. There is also a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the front.

The Vivo X80 comes with up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It includes connectivity options such as 5G, Wi-Fi 6, an Infrared (IR) blaster, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The phone also comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and has a 4,500mAh battery that supports fast charging with 80W Flash Charge.

The Vivo X80 Pro also runs on Android 12 but has a 6.78-inch 2K (1,440×3,200 pixels) AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The phone comes with the quad rear camera which includes a 50-megapixel primary Samsung ISOCELL GNV sensor along with a 48-megapixel ultra-wide Sony IMX598 shooter, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 sensor with a portrait lens and an 8-megapixel sensor with a periscope-shaped ultra-telephoto f/3.4 lens. It will have Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000 options in China, but in India, it will get the former SoC, the company confirmed on its microsite. The Snapdragon model has 8 GB and 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM options, while the Dimensity option has 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM as standard.

The Vivo X80 Pro comes with a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the front for selfies and video chats.

The Vivo X80 Pro has up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It has almost the same connectivity options available on the Vivo X80. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,700mAh battery that supports 80W Flash Charge, fast wired charging, and 50W wireless charging.
